Pilates is a safe, low impact, yet highly effective form of exercise created by Joseph Pilates in the early 20th century.  Designed to improve strength, flexibility, posture, and balance, Pilates is for every body.   All fitness levels and ages are welcome.  Pilates is excellent for athletes, dancers, runners, senior citizens, postpartum moms, post physical therapy and rehabilitation, scoliosis, osteoporosis, and much more. 

 

Each Pilates session targets major and minor muscle groups.  You may use muscles you didn't even know you have!  Pilates works from deep within so the muscles in your "powerhouse" or core and those surrounding your spine are strengthened allowing the rest of your muscles to safely follow suit.  

Pilates is a type of mindful movement so the body and mind work together.  This brings a new awareness for many people as they learn to trust their body and discover its amazing capabilities!
